Percussion teacher: I have been leading percussion workshops since 1986 as a self-employed teacher, as well as for music services, arts bodies and event management companies. I have worked internationally and nationally. Until 2020 my work was mainly in the North West of England. Workshops were suspended during lockdown. In 2021 I relocated to South West London, and have worked for Oriol School in Hanworth (KS2 October 21); Camp Wales (July 22); five schools in Wrexham (KS2 March 2023).

Performance:
2016 – present: Global Grooves – a percussion and brass street band performing at festivals including Blue Dot 2018-19 and 2022, Oldham Festival 2016-19 and various other festivals and corporate events
2012- 2023: The Vulnerables – a six piece indie pop band playing various venues in Manchester
2022- present and 2004-2013: Beatlife – a community samba band based in Liverpool. Highlights included Lord Mayors parade in Liverpool, Africa Oye, Lake of Stars festival Malawi 2009/10, Oslo Mela 2008-12, 22 and 23.
2005- 2011: Storyville – Five piece jazz/blues band playing around Manchester + Prague Arts Festival 2010
1985- 2003: Inner Sense Percussion samba band, touring UK and Ireland, including with Kneehigh Theatre company in 1994; house band for the British Council from 1992 – 1999 including tours of the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia.
1983- 84: Simply Red
1979-1983: Biting Tongues – A five piece avant garde, post punk, funk band with Graham Massey of 808 State. Highlights include Factory Club 1979, ICA 1980 and 2003.
1982 Germany tour with Nico (Velvet Underground)
1974- 1979 various local rock bands
Volunteering
December 2020-June 2021 Driver for Fareshare Manchester
December 2021- present Driver for Felix Project West London
Both involve distributing to food banks.
